Pani Aur Swachta Mein Sajhedari, Delhi(PASS)

About the Project

The PASS – Pani aur Swachhta main Sajhedari project, supported by USAID in Delhi and Agra, focuses on delivering integrated WASH services to low-income communities—ensuring taps and toilets at home for improved equality, health, and productivity as pathways to sustainable poverty reduction.

CURE drives this initiative by innovating and implementing scalable service delivery models, including SANMAN, decentralized and de-engineered solutions such as simplified sewers, slum networking, cluster septic tanks, customized home toilets, innovative financing models, slope restoration, and wastewater treatment systems to prevent flooding. Alongside infrastructure, a strong Behavior Change Communication (BCC) program encourages healthier practices and long-term adoption of improved sanitation and hygiene behaviors.

Building on an ecological approach to urban resilience, PASS positions slum communities as active partners in improving health outcomes and sustainable service delivery. Currently, the project is reaching 114,000 households across 140 slum settlements in multiple cities, setting a benchmark for inclusive, community-led WASH transformation.
