The USAID SAMAGRA project in Bhatti Mines focused on strengthening water accessibility and infrastructure through targeted, community-driven interventions. Technical assessments identified critical service gaps, leading to the extension of water pipelines to underserved households and the installation of new borewells to address persistent scarcity. To complement these efforts, the project introduced innovative stormwater drainage systems, simplified sewer networks, and compost pits integrated with city services—improving both waste management and sustainable agriculture practices. Community engagement was central to the initiative, with residents actively involved in water testing and the upkeep of submerged pipelines. By combining infrastructure upgrades with local participation, the project not only ensured reliable access to clean water but also fostered long-term ownership and resilience within the community.
