Adarsh Basti is a pilot project undertaken by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) in 52 slums spread across Delhi. The aim was to develop "Model Bastis" through visible improvement in infrastructure in terms of better managed Community toilet complexes, Basti Vikas Kendra, water facilities, solid waste management and eradication of open defecation in the selected slums. CURE helped DUSIB develop the concept and pilot the project in six slums in Delhi, through a process of community engagement.
